The Rural Municipality of Blaine Lake #434, is seeking a Grader Operator. As a member of the Public WorksCrew, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing all roads in the RM of Blaine Lake #434, on a priority basis, under the direct Supervision of the Municipal Public Works Administrator.

You will operate, service, and maintain heavy equipment such as Motor Grader, Back Hoe, Pay Loader, Track Hoe, Farm Tractor, Skid Steer, Farm Tractor front end loader, Ditch Mower, Tractor driven Mulcher, Service Truck, Lawn mower, Class “A” Truck power unit and various trailers; also Power equipped post hole auger, Hand tools, power tools, cutting equipment, welding equipment, cutting torches and equipment, gauges, meters, metal detectors, measuring devices, calculators, computerized vehicle equipment, Personal Protective Equipment, and fire suppression equipment.
You will perform various maintenance functions in the summer (on a full-time, seasonal basis) and snow and ice removal in the winter months(On-call,during lay-offs). You will keep records and logs of hours of operation, maintenance, repairs, and amounts of materials applied to municipal roads. In the absence of the supervisor, you may be assigned supervisory responsibilities.
You will work under extreme and changing climate conditions and must be willing to work longhours. You must be able and willing to work in physically-demanding conditions and perform physical labour, heavy lifting, and climbing.
To qualify for this position, you must hold a valid Class 5 (or better) licence and all applicable tickets to safely operate the above listed equipment.
Candidates must be able to perform the duties of this position in a safe manner. A criminal record check and a driver’s abstract will be requirements of this job.
